To reach this cemetery, starting at Pearl Street in Goliad, drive north onto Jefferson Street for 0.78 miles. Turn right or east onto Ward Street and continue for 0.2 mile. The cemetery is on the left or north side of the street at the intersection with N. Fort Street.

On Sep 20, 1895, A. B. Remick and others, deeded 10 acres of land located outside the City of Goliad, to the City of Goliad. The plot of ground is Northeast quadrant of the City of Goliad, just outside the city limits. Its entrance is on Ward Street.

The land was surveyed for a cemetery in November of 1895 by H. L. Tally. The survey is made up of 100 blocks separated by walkways 7' wide going N to S, and 8' wide going E to W. Eight blocks in the SE corner of the cemetery belong to the Lutheran Church. This section is called Lutheran Cemetery. Each of the 100 blocks contains 64 grave spaces except for the blocks that are cut by the center reservation and the driveway.

Glendale Cemetery Association was organized on Jun 22, 1916 and formed for the purpose of maintaining and taking care of Glendale Cemetery of Goliad, Texas. The Association was established to provide perpetual care and maintenance of the cemetery and to invest and properly utilize all gifts, donations and/or memorials. Title to all lots in said cemetery were vested in such Association by an order of the Commissioner's Court of Goliad County, Texas, as shown by the records of said Commissioner's Court in Volume D, Page 264, dated Aug 14, 1916. Organizing officers were, Mrs. Ben W. Martin, President, Secretary Treasurer Mrs. J. F. Farley, Reporter Mrs. M. C. Spangle. Any owner of a lot in Glendale Cemetery is entitled to be a member of the Association, and a roll will be kept to record and register all members.
