The Saint Louis Cemetery is located on the west end of Castroville Texas on the left hand side of Hwy 90.

The cemetery is owned and maintained by the Saint Louis Catholic Church of Castroville, and it it divided into has three sections.

Located in section 2 is the grave of Henri Castro who is founder of Castroville and much of his family. It also contains the remains of the first white person born in the Castro Colony.

There are many tombstones which are unreadable and/or very weather beaten. My walk through was conducted in Dec 2002/Jan 2003, updated to Oct 2003. Photos are available.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
