Toombs-Venible Cemetery
Van Zandt County, Texas

Lat: 32° 44' 53"N, Lon: 95° 49' 34"W

Contributed by Paul Ridenour, Apr 12, 2002, last edited Apr 05, 2008 [paulridenour@tx.rr.com].  Total records = 6.

Cemetery is north on 859 out of Edgewood, Texas, turn right at SH 19, turn right at VZ CR 3613, 1/2 mile on the right, 100 feet from road.

The cemetery was 8 feet under blackberry briars. There may be 2 more buried there but only 6 gravestones were found, but I have transcribed all I could find. I did the survey myself in March of 2000.

The land across the street was owned by the Venables. My third greatgrandmother is buried there with two of her daughters and 3 of her great grandchildren from another daughter.

Notice the two spellings of Toumbes/Toumbs. The gravestones have the "e" on them. There seem to be many variations of the actual name: Toumbes-Venable, Toombs-Venable, Toombs-Venible, Toumbes-Venible.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
