Pitts Cemetery
Hooes, King George County, Virginia

Rte 624, Hooes, King George VA

Lat: 38° 22' 15"N, Lon: 77° 03' 02"W

Contributed by Anne Braun, Jul 08, 2007 [annieb1961@comcast.net]. Total records = 6.

In Hooes, from the intersection of Routes 614 and 624, go northeast on Route 624 (Mathias Point Road, until reach a driveway on the east side of the road, abt 2mi, across from Liberty Road on your left. There is a For Sale sign next to the road you enter.

Either you can walk or drive .25 miles east on the dirt/gravel road. The cemetery is on the north side of the road. It appears the land this cemetery is on, is being sold as land development.

According to the stones, this family cemetery was established about 1920 and was last used in 1981.

This includes only headstone readings from when I visited this cemetery on Jun 16, 2007.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
