Berea Baptist Cemetery
Spotsylvania, Spotsylvania County, Virginia

8956 Courthouse Rd, Spotsylvania VA

Lat: 37° 11' 59"N, Lon: 77° 35' 23"W

Contributed by Anne Braun, Jan 06, 2006 [annieb1961@comcast.net]. Total records = 41.

In Spotsylvania, from the intersection of Route 608 (Brock Road) and Highway 208 (Courthouse Road), go .1 southeast on Courthouse Road. The cemetery is on the west side of the road behind the Spotsylvania County Historic Museum.

This is a small, well kept cemetery dating back to the 1840s. The cemetery once belonged to the Berea Baptist Church, which was built in 1856. Today the property belongs to the Spotsylvania County Historic Museum. When I visited the museum, the lady in there knew very little about the cemetery. The last burial took place in 1987.

This is all existing stones, from when I visited it on Dec 30, 2005.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
