To reach this cemetery from the Gloucester Bridge go south on US-17. turn onto Hwy 718 (Hornsbyville Rd), and continue south to 970 Hornsbyville Rd, on the west side of the road.

Land for a church and cemetery was purchased by the Grafton Baptist church back in the late 1890s. At some later date the Grafton Baptist church started another church and Hornsbyville Baptist took over the first church.

This cemetery is now owned and very well maintained by the Hornsbyville Baptist Church in Yorktown VA. Mailing address is in Grafton.

There are few remaining stones now, and I will endeavor to find older records which have additional names of unmarked gravesites.

This is a complete listing of all existing and legible tombstones, which I transcribed on Jun 04, 2005.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
