Briggs Cemetery
Franklin, Franklin County, Vermont

Lat: 44° 00' 18"N, Lon: 72° 55' 49"W, approx.

Contributed by Ted Hemenway Sr, Jul 10, 2006 [enosbird@yahoo.com]. Total records = 3.

From Franklin the cemetery is located about one half mile up the Pigeon Hill Road near the Canadian border.

This cemetery is a small private cemetery, and there are only three graves, a man and his wife and one son. Located along side the road, it once was in a cow pasture. The farmer moved the fence.

It is being maintained by Patty Jo Lothian, daughter of Lucille and Merriman Lothian who took care of this and several abandoned cemeteries in Franklin, Vermont for many years until Merriman's death.

I walked and read this cemetery in the summer of 2006, transcribing from all existing and legible headstones. If anyone has a question I will be glad to try to find an answer.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
