Located on a hill in the southeast corner of the city. Travel out Fourth Street to Mustard Street and turn left. Go four blocks. You can see the cemetery gates plainly from the end of the third block.

The Dayton Cemetery is owned and operated by the city of Dayton, WA, and is very well maintained.

I first transcribed from the cemetery records at city hall. Later I was able to add more information to these from headstone readings found in a previous 1978 transcription, which was provided me by the Columbia County Genealogy Society, all used with permission. This was done over several months in the spring and summer of 2000.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
