Nine Mile Cemetery

To reach this cemetery, driving south from Inchelium on Silvercreek Road, go past Roger's Bar which is about 25mi. When you get to Nine Mile Road turn left, continue about 3-4 miles, until you come to a big field on the left, on the edge of the cliff, turn left into the driveway to the old Jensen farm.

The cemetery is on the right, with a fence around it. It is by the edge of the cliff. I was told the Tribe was supposed to put a road into it but when I was there that had not happened.

Someone named Nielsen owns the land now, and I was told he gave permission for us to be able to drive over to the cemetery, through the property.

The cemetery is maintained by family members who come by and clean it out when they get a chance to visit. This year it was Byron Wing who cleaned it and he also was my guide to the cemetery.

I visited and read this cemetery on Jul 12, 2003, using my digital camera, so have a photo I will share of each headstone. There are several burial sites without a marker or some have a wooden or cement cross with no legible engraving on it.
