Old Bones Cemetery
Lyons Ferry, Franklin County, Washington

"This plaque commemorates the last resting place of the Palouse Indians, the original inhabitants of the area. Because of the rising waters of Lower Monumental Reservoir, their remains were moved to this spot in 1964 from the original place of burial at the confluence of the Snake and Palouse Rivers. Once an important native population, the Palouse no longer exist as a tribal entity but their rich cultural traditions survive in accounts of the historic and prehistoric past and in the heritage bestowed upon us all."

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
