Bethel Cemetery (Kirby Cemetery)
Kirby, Garfield County, Washington

Mayview Rd and McKee Rd
Kirby WA

Lat: 46°31'10"N, Lon: 117°23'14"W

Contributed by Vicki Batterton, Jun 09, 2002 [bookworm@3-cities.com]. Total records = 117.

Called Bethel in the Courthouse Records and Kirby by common usage. Located (according to a 1913 Standard Atlas of the county) in Pleasant Precinct, R43E T12N Sec 14, near Elsensohn Rd.

Transcribed with permission in 1998, from work copied by Elaine (Trescott) Anderson 18 Jun 1966.

Elaine and her sister, Barbara (Trescott) Bartels, also extracted genealogically related items from the early Garfield County newspapers, namely the "Washington Independent" 8/1880 to 8/1896 and the "East Washingtonian" 3/1882 to 1928.

When death notices from these papers indicated where burial took place I have added them to this record with a note in the comments column. Some of these undoubtedly account for the Unknown graves. An asterisk * follows these entries.

    cemetery records

A free online library of cemetery records from thousands of cemeteries across the world, for historical and genealogy research.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
