The Lithuanian Cemetery can be reached by driving west on Pennsylvania Ave to Memorial Rd where you take a left. From this road take the first left continue past all the cemeteries and than take a right between the New City Cemetery and Memorial Gardens. The Lithuanian Cemetery will be on the right across the road from the back side of the Old City Cemetery. see map

The Lithuanian Cemetery was established in 1909 by the Lithuanian Alliance Lodge, which chartered in 1907. If you were a dues paying member of the lodge, you had a free burial in this cemetery. The first burial was A.S. Strastsky in Oct of 1910. The lodge has long been disbanded, but the Mulvihill family has continued to care for the cemetery.

I acquired the information I have presented from my reading of the headstones which was done when I visited the cemetery. I also compared with the Sexton files, one old and one newer, which conflicted. I have added the Row and Lot numbers from these records, and because they differ some of the burial locations may be incorrect.

I wish to extend much thanks to Teresa Kloss for assisting me with some of the errors I had from my original reading.

I surveyed this cemetery on Aug 20, 2001, using pencil and pad, plus my digital camera. I will share photos if I have a good photo of the stone you want. For more information on Roslyn.
