Zion Hill Cemetery
Rocklyn, Lincoln County, Washington

Lat: 47° 33' 02"N, Lon: 118° 18' 26"W
T23N R36E S29

Contributed by Pat Rice, Mar 18, 2000, last edited Apr 18, 2009 [rcrice@centurytel.net]. Total records = 111.

It is located atop a hill, less than a quarter of a mile from the church itself, nestled among the wheat fields of Lincoln County. To get there, go west on Highway 2 from Davenport to Rocklyn Road, then south for six miles to Church Road. Take Church Road for a little over a mile to the cemetery. It is in T23N R36E S29 and still active.

This cemetery is adjacent to the Zion Church of Rocklyn. It bears a sign reading Zion Hill Cemetery of Rocklyn. Carl and Dorothy Meilke hold the records.

Because of the positioning of the stones, the cemetery was read beginning with the furthermost grave to the southwest, reading from south to north, and continuing as one would read a book. The listings are numbered in the order that the stones appeared, when a stone number appears more than once, a shared stone is indicated. The list has been alphabetized but the numbers are at the end of each listing for the position in the cemetery. Numbers above 36 are on opposite side of driveway

d/o = daughter of
s/o = son of
h/o = husband of
w/o = wife of
m=married
f/s = foot stone

Some of the graves had a flat table-top slab over the grave, as well as a headstone marker. Those are marked with t/t in the notes. The cemetery was read in September 1999 by Pat Rice, additional information from Marge Womach.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

    Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
