Joseph Moran migrated to Spokane from Canada, and was a former trapper. He lived here even before it was a town, and lived on the prairie that was eventually named for him, Moran Prairie. He was an industrious man and well thought of, dying after being gored by a bull. No record of him ever marrying has surfaced.
