Valley Grove (Yeend) Cemetery
Walla Walla County, Washington

Valley Grove or the Yeend Cemetery is located 4.75 miles North of Walla Walla off the Lower Waitsburg Road about 2/10 miles West on the Valley Grove Road to the farm access road of the Darrell Yeend farm house. The cemetery is 1/3 mile West of the home site in SE1/4 Sec 20 T8N R36E. There is no road to it.

The site where the graves are is very overgrown with brush and wild roses with many headstones nearly covered completely with dirt and debris. We suspect there may be other graves here. It is partially fenced with barb wire. Several graves were enclosed in their own fencing.

The cemetery land was donated by William and Ellen Yeend who came from England in 1870 and settled on the homestead. They had 16 children some of whom are buried here of which some died of diptheria.
