From Samerco drive north a short distance then right down Buckeye Fork road just past the Johnson Fork mailboxes on the right. You will have to cross the creek to get to the gate. The gate stays locked to keep out vehicles, but there is a nice walking trail just to the left of the gate. Once the trail ends go up the hill on your left.

This cemetery is really overgrown so you may not see it until you get close. Definitely take a camera and a walking stick. I also wouldn't suggest going there in mosquito season or hot weather!

I did not find out who owns this cemetery. It appears to be a family cemetery, starting in the late 1800s. It is not well maintained and might be considered abandoned. Judging from the stones it has not been used since the 1950s.

The inscriptions listed here are abbreviated versions of the actual text on the headstones. All military markers will be noted with at end of the entry. If I have estimated a birth date, denoted it with cDOB (calculated date of birth).

I walked and read this cemetery in November of 2004.

Cemetery Notes:
Justes, James ,This inscription was done by hand, so the last name is probably Justice instead of 'Justes'
Loftis, G., The headstone said 'G. Loftis', but the Curry Funeral Home marker said 'Jeraldean Loftis'
Pauley, Ralph, This is currently the oldest legible marker in the Pauley Cemetery

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
