Petford Cemetery
Mareeba Shire, Queensland, Australia

Submitted by Leighann Mansfield, Apr 13, 2008, last edited May 07, 2008 [leighannmansfield@bigpond.com]. Total records = 7.

Petford Cemetery is a privately owned and maintained cemetery inaccessible to the public and located just outside the township of Petford.

Petford township is located approximately 65km south west of Mareeba on the Burke Development Road and is a rural township and railway siding.

The cemetery is a quaint, pretty area sacred to the memories of those interred. I was told that the owners of the cemetery moved away from the area many years earlier but still return periodically and tend the graves.

The transcription was completed by a graveside walk in early December, 2007.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
