Forest Lawn Cemetery
Central Kootenay, British Columbia, Canada
50207 36th Ave N.
Creston, B.C., Canada
Contributed by Harv Schmidt, Oct 12, 2003, last edited Feb 02, 2005 [harv_schmidt@hotmail.com]. Total records = 3,889.
From Creston head East on Highway 3 for approx two miles. Turn left onto 36th Ave. The cemetery entrance is about two blocks North on the right hand side of the road.
Forest Lawn Cemetery was started in 1940 and is still in active use
today. It is owned and maintained by the town of Creston. Recently the
town has started to develop a new section for future burials, which
will serve the town and surrounding area for many years to come. There
are no raised tombstones or markers in this cemetery, all are level
with the ground.
I walked and read this cemetery over a period of several months (June - Sept 2003) as time and health permitted. The transcription is a compilation of both cemetery records and tombstone inscriptions.
Where the abbreviation n.m. follows a name it designates that there
is no marker and the date given has been obtained from the B.C. Government
Vital Records Online Index.
