To reach this cemetery, begin at the intersection of Highway 2 & 53, east of Brantford, (Cainsville), there are traffic lights, travel south on Brant County Road #18, for several kilometres, you will come to an intersection with traffic lights. Turn left on to Brant County Road #4, a.k.a. Cockshutt Road, travel south for a few kilometres. Watch for a road sign indicating a left turn to Boston and Port Dover, turn left at that intersection to follow Cockshutt Road which is now Brant County Road #44. You will enter Norfolk County, continue on the Cockshutt Road which is Norfolk County Road #5.
Continue on through Boston and be on the lookout for a road sign indicating Con 11 Twn. Turn left and head east on Concession Road #11 for a few kilometres. Cross Villa Nova Road, there is a stop sign, then watch for an intersection road sign indicating Rockford, Main Street. Turn left there, it appears to be a farm lane with a sign posted "No Exit", travel north and you will see a country lane branching off to the left, grass surface, then continue on that lane a short distance and you will see Rockford United Cemetery on the left. It is advisable to not travel this road in wet weather. This is a public lane, but it is not maintained. Years ago it was a through road, but no longer.
This cemetery is maintained by Norfolk County. It is an old cemetery and no longer active. The existing stones have been moved to a central location in the cemetery and placed in a concrete foundation. The foundation has broken in one section and some of the stones are badly tilted and difficult to read.
I walked this cemetery in October, 2006, reading and recording each tombstone or grave marker that could be read in order to complete the transcription process. I did notice a few broken pieces of stones and they were unreadable.
