To make your way to this cemetery, travel the main street of Simcoe, south on Norfolk Street South, watch for traffic lights intersection of Saint John Road East. Turn left on to Saint John Road East and travel east for approximately 3 kms. The cemetery is located on your left, the north side of Saint John Road East.
This cemetery is under the management of, and it is maintained by Norfolk County. It is no longer active and has not been for many years. The tombstones have all been place in two rows, set in a concrete base, close to the rear boundary of the cemetery. There are a few stones laid flat in front of the first row of stones, several of which have letters inscribed on them. Besides being a cemetery, it has the designation of being a United Empire Loyalist Burying Ground.
I walked this cemetery in August, 2007, reading and recording the inscription from each tombstone that could be read in order to complete the transcription process. Several records have the note "age obscured" or "details obscured". In those cases the tombstone has been set in a concrete base and the information is covered in the concrete.- Murray E. Fair
