Driving Directions

From the town of Bury, take Route 255 about 2.5 miles. The cemetery is on your right and stones appear in front and on both sides of Saint John Church.

Cemetery History

This cemetery is owned and maintained by Saint John Anglican Church which dates from 1842, so most likely the cemetery began at about that same time, and it is still used today.

This cemetery has what appears as large empty areas but in fact there are burials in these lots according to the caretaker who was mowing while I was there. Some stones may have been removed after they had broken and fallen, or there may not have been stones in some areas.

Most of the existing stones are legible. There is a plaque which mentions the names of those buried in an area of the cemetery where now grows a cluster of cedars. These are marked with an asterisk (*).
