Thompson Cemetery
New Mexico, Compton County, Quebec

Directions: From Cookshire take Route 212 to Island Brook. Watch for New Mexico Road on your right after you pass through the village. Take this winding gravel road for a couple of kilometers and you will see the small Catholic cemetery with a white cross on your left.

Notes: This is a rural area once known as New Mexico. This cemetery was used by both English and French residents. Note that there are several instances with variations in surname spellings for the same name. There was a burial in 1994, but it appears to have been used mostly in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Susan Nutbrown and I visited this cemetery in Jun of 2005, and we have transcribed from all existing and legible tombstones or markers.
