To reach the cemetery, you must take the main road of the village, which people used to call "the highway", and go north until you almost exit the village. The cemetery is easily seen from "the highway" with a big black cross at it's entrance.

Saint Augustin had been a trading post of the Hudson Bay Company around 1720 and became a village in the early 1800. The name of the village comes from the first landlord who settleddown there, M. Augustin Le Gardeur de Courtemanche.

The municipal cemetery is used by both Anglican and Catholic community burials now, unlike the early years.
