The municipality of Sainte-Agathe in the former township of Nelson is presently in the MRC of Lotbinière in the Chaudière-Appalache region. The town is situated at the junction of routes 271 and 218. The cemetery is behind the church.

The registers of this Catholic parish began in 1857, but between 1853 and 1857 it was part of the mission of Saint Gilles. The territory of this parish detached from Saint-Gilles in 1857. In the early days this area had a lot of Irish Catholics  but today it is mostly French Canadians who live here.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
