Flodden Cemetery
Flodden, Richmond County, Quebec

Out of Sherbrooke, Quebec, follow Route 55 North towards Richmond, Quebec. Take exit 85 for Melbourne, and travel south on Route 243, for approximately 14 kilometers, until you see Flodden Road on your left. Follow that road for about 4 more kilometers until you reach the abandoned Orford Mountain Railway line. Make a left turn onto what used to be the railway bed, now a dirt road, and the cemetery can be seen sitting on the top of a hill to your left.

This cemetery is also known as the Back Gore or Pioneer Cemetery, it began as a Presbyterian burial ground, but today it is a cemetery for all denominations. It is surrounded by a steel fence and gate across the front, and stone walls on the remaining three sides. It is very well maintained by the St. Andrews Cemetery Committee of Melbourne, Quebec, and is still an active cemetery.

The Flodden Cemetery dates back to the mid 1800s, and many of the stones are either in pieces or not legible, so my listing is not complete.

I walked this cemetery in the fall of 2007, transcribing from the existing headstones to the best of my ability.
