Jefferson Cemetery is located on both sides of Jefferson Road, about 500 feet east of the intersection with County Road 57. The cemetery is owned by Jefferson Baptist Church, located in town along County Rd 57 and County Rd 21.

Records below were originally published in Alabama Genealogical Society Magazine, Volume 1, Number 4, dated October 1967 The transcription was copied from tombstones by William R. Armistead with no mention of date. Mr. Armistead was quoted as saying...
"Many of the markers were in state of mass confusion, looked as if they had been broken with sledge hammers. Approximately 100 to 150 unmarked graves which probably had had markers which have been destroyed."
