Starting at the only red light in Wilmer, Alabama, head south on Wilmer Road. Travel 3.7 miles and turn right or west onto Howell's Ferry road, and continue for .3 tenths of a mile and you will see Palestine Road on your right. Take this right hand turn and you will see the church and cemetery a short distance ahead of you on your right.

The cemetery is in pretty good shape, has a very nice brick and wrought iron fence across the front and on one side. The other sides have chain link fence, There is a large brick arch over the main gates which are also made of wrought iron.

The cemetery is owned by the Palestine Church, and the upkeep is done by a contractor. Palestine Church will be celebrating their 150th anniversary in July, 2007. The church is publishing a book commemorating the occasion and I hope to have the web sites showing the cemetery listings included in their book.

I walked the cemetery on Jun 06, 2007 and recorded the information from all of the headstones and temporary grave markers. The are many unmarked graves in this cemetery.
