New Hope Cemetery has been unused since the 1930's. It rests on land once owned by a Hardshell Baptist Church. Thanks to a recent restoration project conducted by student organizations at J.U. Blacksher High School, Uriah, AL, many damanged tombstones and graves have been restored or replaced. Where the new stones were added, the original slabs still exist, but are unreadable.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
