Hwy 327 is actually off of Hwy 74 and not Hwy 7 as indicated by most state maps. Hwy 74 lies on the north side of Jasper Arkansas as it crosses Hwy 7. Turn on Hwy 74 west as if going to Ponca. About 3/10 mile turn onto State Hwy. 327 South toward Parthenon crossing Henson Creek. About 5.4 miles from the intersection at Hwy. 74 pass through Parthenon in which you might see the USPO off the main road. From there travel up the mountainside about 1.0 mile which is about halfway up. Turn right on an unpaved road that is marked with a sign that says "Murray." You will stay on this road for approximately 1.5 miles passing an organic farm (blueberry patch) on the right a low water bridge and several residences close to the road. Eventually you will arrive at "Buffalo Cemetery" on the left. There is a very old small church that sits to the backside.

The drive to Buffalo Cemetery is one of the most beautiful drives I have ever experienced. Nestled in the hills of the Ozark National Forest. The Buffalo River Valley is surrounded by surging bluffs that encase the valley like an awesome fortress. This place is as rich in history as it is in phenomenal beauty.

I walked and read this cemetery on Oct 26, 2002. This includes readings from all existing headstones. The cemetery does have recent burials. The earliest burial seems to be in 1862.
