Directions: From the the intersection of Highway 90 and State Road 77 go south to Greenhead. Take the Greenhead - Vermon highway west also know as County Road 279. The Church and cemetery are located on the left about 6 miles.
This cemetery is owned and maintained by the Moss Hill United Methodist church of Holmes Valley Florida. It is not a perpetual care cemetery, and most care comes from volunteers and family members.
In 1857, after a colorful beginning, the Moss Hill United Methodist Church built a new church building on 40 acres of land, donated to them by Igdaliah 'Eagle Eye' Wood. A cemetery was then established next to the church. The most recent burial was in 2003.
There are now many unmarked graves, some so old they have become almost obliterated. During later years stones have been erected and graves are cared for, but as a rule, these are for later burials.
