From Millen GA, 2.5 miles southwest on US 25 to Hwy 23 junction, .9 mile southwest via Hwy 23 to W. Old Savannah Rd., west on W. Old Savannah Rd. about 5 miles to Ed Lewis Rd., south on Ed Lewis Rd, about mile to intersection of Thomas Rd., Brinson Lane Rd., and Ed Lewis Rd. Cemetery is .1 mile from this intersection on the southwest side of Thomas Rd.
This is an African-American cemetery. According to a life-long resident of the area, it hasn't been used for burials since the early 1960's. It comprises an area of about two acres and has not been maintained.
The entire area is overgrown with trees and thick brush. The recorded grave sites are widely separated from one another, and are the only ones that could be found with markers (some of these markers had to have earth and debris removed from them in order to read them). There is evidence of many more graves scattered throughout the area.
I have transcribed Jan 19, 1998 from all known tombstones.
