The Pinegrove Cemetery is located just east of the town of Rathdrum on Highway 53. Directions to the cemetery are take Highway 41 north from I90 to the town of Rathdrum. At the Highway 41, Highway 53 interchange go straight so that you stay on Highway 53. Go around the corner and you will see a Super One Foods Store on your right. The cemetery is just east of this location on the North side of the road. The entrance is off Highway 53.
This is one of the oldest cemeteries in either Kootenai or Bonner County. Rathdrum was the original county seat for Kootenai County. Until approximately 1910 Bonner County was part of Kootenai County. The oldest known burial was Harry Nicholls in November of 1886. Earlier records are very incomplete. Questions concerning this cemetery should be directed to the Rathdrum City Clerk.
Cemetery transcriptions completed by Mary Garrison in June 2000 and burial records with the city Clerk's Office January 2001. Information was also gathered from obituaries and death notifications in the local newspapers furnished by the Bonner County Historical Museum. Updated 05-27-2001
