To reach cemetery, drive north out of Butler on IL Rte 127 for 2 mi, turn right onto Wares Grove Avenue and drive 1+ mi. east. At the top of the hill, turn south or right onto Wares Grove Lane. The cemetery is at the end of the short lane.
About 1854 this cemetery was established by the Wares brothers. During the lifetime of Sarah Ware (1883-1855, widow of Benjamin), this family gave the cemetery ground to the Cemetery Association, which lies east of the churchyard. It is now owned and very well maintained by the Wares Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church.
