From Kansas City, take I35 South to Shawnee Mission Pky. Follow Shawnee Mission Pky to K7 North. Take K7 to W 55th St. and turn left and proceed approximately 1 mile. The cemetery is located on Clare Road and W 55th St, which ends at the cemetery.
The cemetery was established about 1869 in what is known as the Wea Catholic Community. It is now operated and maintained by a Cemetery Board under the direction of the Pastor along with a Perpetual Care Endowment Fund with the Archdiocese of Kansas City KS.
This beautiful cemetery is very well maintained and landscaped. Some of the stones are weathered and illegible and some are broken or missing.
I have transcribed all existing markers or stone from my visit to this cemetery in on Jul 01, 2006. I also consulted the Miami County Cemetery Index. Photos available upon request.
