To reach cemetery drive north out of Osage on Hwy 31 for 1 mile. The cemetery is on the west/left side of the highway, across Hwy 31 from the Osage City Cemetery and south of and across US Hwy 56 from the Union Cemetery.

Rev O E Degan tried to purchase the ten acres of land for the Mt Calvary cemtery in 1911 from Mr Lars Johnson but it was not until the gentleman died that he succeeded. He bought the land for $125 an acre in 1913. It was dedicated in Sepember 1914 and consists of ten acres in the form of a square in the northeast corner of the section immediately south of the Swedish cemetery. At the dedication the center driveways were named "Via Dolorosa" and "Via Lacrimosa". The other drives were named after the tweleve apostles and the saints whose statues were in the church at the time. (The fence around Mount Calvary Cemetery at Osage City must be forever kept in good repair at the expense of the Mount Calvary Cemetery fund in St Patricks Parish and it is so stipulated in the deed. This was a condition of sale by the owners of the quarter-section for dividing the ten-acre track.) From the 125th ann book put out by the church in Sepember 1996. Originally read April 3-4, 1982

This cemetery is sometimes referred to as Saint Patrick Cemetery, probably because that is the name of the church who owns and maintains it.
