To reach this cemetery from Downs, Kansas, drive west on Hwy 24 for 5 miles to 80th Ave. Turn left on 80th Ave and continue south for 1 mile to 50th Dr. The cemetery sits on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Bethany Center Cemetery was established when John & Sarah Keirns sold a plot of ground to E.C. Frear for $5.00 for the purpose of burial ground on May 31, 1887. The deed was recorded on Jun 06, 1887.

This cemetery is very well maintained but a few of the stones are located in lilac bushes so they are hard to read.

Robert Gillis and I walked and read this cemetery in Sep of 2006. This includes all existing and legible stones and markers.
