Partin Family Cemetery
Barbourville, Knox County, Kentucky

From Barbourville take Hwy 11 south six miles to Hwy 1530. There will be a sign pointing the way to New Hope Baptist Church. Turn right or west onto Hwy 1530, go approx. 3/4 of a mile to Hwy 3442. There will be another sign for the New Hope Baptist Church. Turn right at the sign. Go across the hill approx 1/4 mile to Cedar Point Lane. The Cemetery is at the end of this Lane with the side of the Cemetery facing Hwy 3442.

The name of this community is Mackey Bend, though it is not on the maps. The current mailing address for the cemetery is Barbourville, however, it has been King, and Gausdale in the past.

This cemetery is a private cemetery, owned and maintained by the Partin family and only family are buried in it up to now. All family members take turns with the maintainence.

As related to me by my Grandfather, Elvin Partin, he said that his Mother, Sarah Catherine (Turner) Partin, told his Father, Elam Partin, that when she died she wanted buried under the Cedar on the hill next to the to the property line. So began the Partin Family Cemetery in 1917. First grave being hers with Elam to her left when looking at the cemetery from the gate.

This contains all existing burials up to the summer of 2005. All burials have a headstone. It is still used as needed by the family.
