Mount Vernon Cemetery
Frederick County, Maryland

10725 Dayville Road
Libertytown, Maryland

Lat: 39° 29' 11"N, Lon: 77° 16' 48"W

Contributed by Anne Braun, May 06, 2004 [annieb1961@comcast.net]. Total records = 12.

From Libertytown, go west on Highway 26 until you reach Daysville Road, turn on Dayville Road and go west for 2 miles. The cemetery is on the south side of the road next to a house.

I compared my findings with Mr. Holcraft, done in March 1958 and found 6 headstones that I am counting. Some of the stones are buried in the ground.

The landowner said a long time ago there were more headstones but somebody threw them into the woods and cannot be found. The first burial took place in 1880 with the last in 1926.

*Missing headstone or I could not find the headstone.

I walked through this cemetery on May 4, 2004.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
