In Friendly, from the intersection of Highway 210 and Old Fort Road, go east/southeast on Old Fort Road for about .75 miles until you reach Allentown Road. Turn onto Allentown Road and go 1.25 east/northeast until you reach Steed Road. Turn onto Steed road and go north .30 niles until you reach the Ryan new home constuction site. Turn there and park your car.

Walk along the construction road 60 yards to the east and then 100 yards to the north. You will see a Forest Protection/Reserve sign. The cemetery is right there. You can also see the cemetery from the east side of Steed Road.

This is a family cemetery which contains the descendents of the Steed and Edelen Families. The cemetery was part of the old Steed Farm. Ryan Homes now owns the land and is going to build a housing development called Steed's Glen.

I talked with a representative of Ryan Homes. They know about the cemetery and the family will be taking care of it. They also assured me that the cemetery will not be disturbed. The burials took place from the 1870s until 1986.

I visited this burial site on Sep 11, 2004. I compared my findings with the book "Stones and Bones" which was printed in 1984.
