Littleton Cemetery
Whaleyville, Worcester County, Maryland

Lat: 38° 25' 25"N, Lon: 75° 18' 41"W

Contributed by John Joshua Jenkins, May 01, 2003, last edited Dec 10, 2010 [josh@joshjenkins.net]. Total records = 39.

To reach the cemetery from Whaleyville, drive north on Dale Road, right onto Sheppards Crossing Rd, right onto Shavox Church Road. The cemeteries will be to your left, or the north side of the road is a very short distance.

This is in two sections, within short walking distance of one another. Both sections are in very poor condition, overgrown with a lot of trash. It possibly was two different cemeteries, early maps show it was. I do not know the names of either, so chose Littleton for a name. If anyone knows the names please contact me.

Both cemeteries are similar in that they are surrounded by cinder blocks. The two are approximately 20-25 yards from one another on the same side of the road, separated by a forested area.

I walked and transcribed all existing headstones on Aug 03, 2002.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
