This cemetery is located about 15 miles NE of Saint Cloud Minnesota. From Saint Cloud take Hwy 23 NE to Foley Minnesota the county seat. At Foley go north on Hwy 25, 5 miles. As you enter Gilman turn right onto Hwy 3 about mile. Saints Peter and Paul Church is on the right with the cemetery behind it.

This cemetery was established circa 1880. The oldest date I could find was 1891. This area was settled about 1858 with the Dahler/Dehler family being one of the pioneer families. This is probably the oldest cemetery in the area due to the many stones of the original Polish immigrants from Pomorski Province and the Poznan in Poland.

The cemetery is divided into two sections. The Old Section runs N/S in a large rectangle. Many of the old stones are weather worn and hard to read. The new section is neatly arranged in two sections divided by a road with lines of stones on concrete strips.

Note: On many stones is the phrase Prosi O Zdrowas Marya Or P.O.Z.M means that the person requests a prayer to our lady.

I walked and read this cemetery on Jul 06, 2005 using my digital camera. I am willing to share photos, and Walsh Co, Polish and Czech, and Benton Kashubian Polish Genealogy information if anyone wishes to contact me.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
