Contributed by Marjorie Broten, Jul 18, 2009, last edited Feb 11, 2011 [mjbroten@centurylink.net]. Total records = 10.

From the intersection of Highway 11 and Lake Street in Warroad, continue south on Hwy 11, you will cross over the bridge and watch for Washington Street Southeast, turn left (east) cross over the railroad tracks and follow this street to the end of the road. Here you will turn right (south), you will see the cemetery on your left or east side of road, turn into the crossing.

This cemetery is surrounded by a wire fence, gates and is in good condition. The cemetery is owned and is maintained by the Cherne Family. The house remaining on the property belonged to the Cherne Family. The Cugnet family has the distinction of the first white family to settle in the area in 1894, daughter Emily was the first white child born in Warroad.

I walked this cemetery on May 14, 2009. This transcription is complete and includes the reading of existing gravestones. I have used a digital camera for pictures.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
