Description

This is a collection of cemetery transcriptions originally compiled by two women, Sims Yarnell and Arlene G. Kidwell in 1954. They had traveled throughout Morgan County to create an of inventory small cemeteries in danger of becoming lost or destroyed. They had typed up their transcriptions and then created mimeographed copies, however the records in these copies were in order by which graves were discovered, not by alphabetized by name.

Katheryn Louise Apperson and her husband had acquired a copy of the mimeograph in 1993 and went about retyping the records by name order into a word processor, then printed out copies. They sought out to find Yarnell & Kidwell to obtain permission for distribution, but could not locate them. They were advised to wait another 20 years to make sure the two original authors had passed away.

In 2022, Apperson contact us at Interment.net about publication. She had created a PDF copy of the printed pages she created, and sent that to us. It's worth noting that the PDF copy was missing the first three pages.

Apperson was 98 years old when she contacted us.
