INTRODUCTION: These records are to assist with locating individuals buried in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Neosho, Newton County, Missouri. Handwritten records are often illegible, therefore, use this book as a guideline only. If in doubt, please visit the cemetery and view the original records. At the time of printing, the records for May 1987 through May of 1990 were not in my possession, therefore, that portion is not included herewith. The information is otherwise complete to the best of my knowledge. There may be individuals buried in I.O.O.F. for which there are no records or the records have been lost.I have included notes found on the actual cards in the cemetery card files. The information frequently includes the individual's age, relative(s), place of birth, cause of death, funeral home, and other items of interest. This is important, as the surnames may not be the same and may be a "piece of a puzzle" for which you have been searching. Please note, in rare instances, the records simply mean the individual or family purchased a lot or lots in the cemetery, it does not necessarily mean they are buried there. Unless a date of death and/or age appears, it may be possible that the individual is buried elsewhere.
Where a date is included and the first two digits of the year are missing, it simply means that the transcriber cannot verify the year (i.e. 1829 vs. 1929).
There is no index included herewith for those individuals appearing in the note section (i.e. Miscellaneous Information). This section may be searched on the CD, which is also available.
For information you may contact the compiler. Address your correspondence to: D. Ann Stillwell-Snyder, 601 Linn Avenue, Neosho, Missouri 64850, or e-mail your request to [dsnyder@ipa.net].
