To reach the cemetery head north on State Highway 63 from Moberly, go 10 miles to Jacksonville, turn left (west) onto State Highway J, go .2 miles to Elgin Street, turn left (south) for .6 miles to County Road 1675. (You can also follow the signs provided by the state directing you to the cemetery.)

This cemetery was dedicated on Oct 25, 2003 with the first interment on Nov 03, 2003. The cemetery occupies 117 acres of land including a lake. The construction of the cemetery will be done in 2 phases: Phase one development consists of 60 acres of which there are 8,885 total burial sites currently developed. As these sites become full, there is another additional 57 acres that will undergo construction for future interments. Giving a total capacity of over 40,000 gravesites.

Military Honors are provided by local Veterans Service Organizations, the Missouri National Guard Reserve Unit or an Active Duty Military Honors Team from the veteran's branch of service. Full Military Honors includes: Firing Party, Sound Taps, Flag Folding and Presentation of the flag to the next of kin.

All the graves are marked with upright granite headstones, except for the Columbarium wall, which are marked with granite niche covers. The veteran and spouse are interred in the same burial plot, unless the spouse is also an eligible veteran. The goal of the cemetery staff is to provide a final place of repose for veterans or dependents, which reflects proper respect and honor for their service and sacrifice.
