It is located on highway 529, just 1/2 mile off of hiwy 28 west of Soso, Miss., between Soso and Summerland. Gitano is not a city or town any more just a community.

The survey of the cemetery was completed by the caretaker, Thomas Coats, and his son Daryl Coats. I have transcribed from their work, which was done in the spring of 2002.
