Take the main highway 28 northwest through Summerland, for about a half mile. The cemetery will be on your left, or the south side of the road. Summerland is betweeen Soso and Taylorsville, MS.

This cemetery is owned and maintained by the Summerland Baptist Church since it's beginning. The church was established in 1898. This means the cemetery was shortly after that. Oldest burial listed is 1906, which means if there were burials before that we do not have them.

This cemetery is still active and in very good condition. It is maintained by Elaine Shows husband.

The Summerland Baptist Cemetery was surveyed in 2001 by Elaine Gambrell Shows and Sara C. Shows Evans. I have transcribed it for the web, from their work, with permission.
