Cedar Mound Baptist Cemetery
Tippah County, Mississippi

Lat: 34°48'28"N, Lon: 88°45'13"W
T? R5E Sec 22

Contributed by Kay Nelson, Jul 18, 2003 [kay672003@yahoo.com].  Total records = 10.

Cedar Mound is located on Hwy 2 between Kossuth, MS and Ripley, MS on the west side of the highway next to the church.

It is near the Alcorn/Tippah County line and appears to be in Alcorn, due to the highway curving, but it is indeed sitting on Tippah County soil.

The land and the timber for the old church was donated by Jane Hamm, wife of Tom Hamm, late 1800's, early 1900's. The deed can be found at the Ripley, MS Courthouse.

There are seven unmarked graves in the cemetery, some which belong to the Hamms. Church is still being held here and new burials are accepted

I compiled this transcription in May 2003 and all came from the tombstones in the cemetery.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
