Nevada City Cemetery

Nevada City Cemetery is located about 2 miles northwest of Virginia City on State Hwy 287. The cemetery is just north and east of the town of Nevada City.

This was the cemetery for the town of Nevada City in it's day, and it is very seldom used for a burial now. The cemetery dates back to the late 1800s.

There are many unmarked graves at this cemetery that are too numerous to count accurately. You can still see the earth mounded where people were buried, as was the custom of that day.

My husband Dave and I walked this cemetery and recorded all legible stones. This work is complete as of Aug 07, 2006.
