King Family Cemetery
Wake County, North Carolina
Mid Pines Road
Swift Creek Twp. NC
Lat: 35° 44' 23"N, Lon: 78° 42' 02"W
Contributed by Shirley Olson, May 30, 2002 [shirley32olson@yahoo.com]. Total records = 6.
Directions: From the Gorman Street exit of I-40 turn south on Gorman St. (SR 1571) to the intersection with Tryon Road (SR 1009). Go east on Tryon Rd. 2/10 mi. to Mid Pines Rd. on your right, and then go 6/10 mi. down Mid Pines (SR 1372) to the cemetery location. On the right side of the road is the wooded area that is the location of the cemetery. It is just past 3008 Mid Pines Rd.
There is no visible sign of the small cemetery that existed here. When the road was built the tombstones were broken and pushed to the side of the road. Many years have elapsed and it is doubtful any remnants of the stones remain. There is such heavy undergrowth at the site that it is not possible to search for any tombstone fragments, if any exist.
I transcribed from King family records on May 28, 2002.
